MAET Year One 2019 We are teachers earning our Master of Arts in Educational Technology through Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
This website is a compilation of our activities using Makerspace concepts and our study of the Maker Movement. We invite you to explore by hovering over the drop down tabs in the top right corner to find out more about us as individuals and the Maker Movement projects we have created. What is the Maker Movement in Education?A great question that we at MAET set out to answer every day. Through repurposing technology in meaningful ways, we aim to bridge the content and the real-world in an impactful learning experience for our students.
This could be as simple as using a styrofoam cup or as advanced as ozobots. Technology is anything we can repurpose to make learning engaging and meaningful. |
"We would argue that almost everything that is artificial—the clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the pencils we use to scribble notes, and the computers we use to browse the Web—is technology, whether low tech or high tech." (Mishra & Koehler, 2009)
